Work In Schools

Within each of our coaching sessions we expose the children to the fundamental skills by providing a structured session. It is our belief that a children’s willingness to learn is increased if the session takes place in an enjoyable environment. Therefore, our extra curricular clubs have been divided into 3 main areas based on children ages:

STORYBOOK COACHING (Reception to Year 2)

Within each session games are adapted to incorporate a story that children can relate to (e.g., Space Invaders, Sleeping Giants and Ghostbusters).

Year 3 & 4

The emphasis is still heavily on enjoyment and skill development but the children also receive specific coaching on matches.

Year 5 & 6

Storybook coaching has been replaced by more advanced sessions but we still do not move from our opinion that children should enjoy what they are doing. Where the course has been specifically set-up to improve a school’s team the coach will work on positional and tactical play within the sport. Children will then feel comfortable in playing school matches against other local teams.

FREE COACHING

Game On offers a FREE coaching session for ALL pupils within a school in. A coach will spend an entire day if necessary working with each class for 30 minutes. Children and teachers have the opportunity to see the quality of Game On’s coaches without any obligation. Please ensure that any enquires are well in advance of our proposed visit to ensure availability.

EXTRA CURRICULAR CLUBS

We offer schools the opportunity to run an exclusive sports club for their pupils. These sessions take place either during the lunchtime period or after-school.

The after-school sessions allow the children to participate in a structured sport session with the emphasis placed on enjoyment.
The lunchtime sessions allow children to enjoy a fun packed session that lasts approximately 30 minutes. This format has proved especially popular for Infant’s school pupils who benefit from a concentrated sports session.

Game On will be responsible for advertising and organising any events, all we require from the schools is the use of their playing fields. During extra curricular clubs parents are required to meet the costs, which are determined by the duration of the course.
